Working On Christmas Tree Farms and Sales Lots
We're in the midst of summer and it is time to
be thinking about Christmas. Especially if you want to work on a Christmas tree
farm or a Christmas tree sales lot.
Christmas tree farms and retailers need workers. According
to Laura Bilger of the National Christmas Tree Association, “One of the
biggest problems in the Christmas tree industry is finding temporary laborers.
Bilger continues, “There are, of coarse, Christmas tree
farms as well as retail lots all over the country that need help.” She
suggests going to the National Christmas Tree Association’s website’s
public site, http://www.realchristmastrees.org
and selecting "find a tree near you." From there, you choose a state
and are given a list of tree farms and retail lots in that state. Bilger
suggests that you then directly contact any that are in your desired work area.
Work that may be available at tree farms and retail
lots includes, among other jobs: lot sales managers, lot assistants, yard and
display decorators, farm tour guides and hosts, laborers to move and load
trees, handymen around the farms and lots, office workers, delivery drivers,
entertainers for special events, and activity planners.
